Customers insert a one pound coin into the machines coin slot and are then invited to place their hand into the palm reading compartment. At this point the machine comes to life, clockwork clangs, linkages shudder and the customers palm is read by the automatons exquisite wooden hands. At the end of each session the machine collapses lifeless once more and a fortune card is vended for the amazed punter to cherish forever.
